Step Up for Students
Step Up For Students helps ensure that equal educational opportunity for all children is not just a dream but a reality. Step Up is a state-approved nonprofit scholarship funding organization that helps administer five scholarships for Florida schoolchildren. These scholarships empower Florida families to have a voice in their children’s education. But our dedication to students doesn’t end when we give them a scholarship. Through our Office of Student Learning, we offer continued educational support services and professional development to strengthen partnerships between home and school, fostering student success. With these services, Step Up is able to maximize the impact of the scholarship by helping to ensure learning continues beyond the classroom.
Step Up For Students offers five scholarships in Florida.
*The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and the Family Empowerment Scholarship are based on financial need. Both scholarships allow parents to find new learning environments for their children.
*The Gardiner Scholarship allows parents to personalize the education of their pre-K-12 children with certain special needs by directing money toward a combination of approved programs and providers.
*The Hope Scholarship allows parents of children in public school to find a new learning environment for their child who is being bullied or a victim of violence.
*The Reading Scholarship Accounts program allows parents with children in public school to access services for their children in grades three through five who are having trouble reading.
