Funded in part by the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, the city offers free after-school programs, where students can complete their homework, play games, do crafts, go on field trips, learn sports and be entertained for the entire day.
The Ross Norton Recreation, Aquatic & Extreme Sports Complex caters to elementary school students and the North Greenwood Recreation Center is geared to middle and high school students. Students must live in Pinellas County to qualify, and free pickup is offered at select schools. Students enrolled in the scholarship program must attend a minimum of one hour per day and may not be absent for more than five days per month.
To sign up, call Ross Norton or North Greenwood Recreation Center to find out if they have availability.
