The George McGough Nature Park offers hands-on environmental learning for all ages with interactive exhibits, live animal habitats, and bird of prey enclosures. Known locally as the “Turtle Park,” the site is home to a wide range of warm- and cold-blooded animals, including aquatic turtles, tortoises, snakes, frogs, lizards, and non-releasable raptors like screech owls, barred owls, great horned owls, red-shouldered hawks, red-tailed hawks, and Sarge the bald eagle.
Boardwalk Closed for Renovations
Due to safety concerns, the wooden boardwalk is currently closed for repair and renovations. We have been awarded a state grant to help rebuild the boardwalk and are working to reopen it as soon as possible.
No dogs, including service dogs, are allowed in the park because of the captive birds on the property.
No fishing at any location at the park. Trails are for foot traffic only, no bicycles.
