Experts from across the agency are available to appear at community events, speaking engagements, and other programs. Some of the topics/assets offered include:
-Specialty Vehicles (Helicopter, Boat, Large Armored Vehicle)
-Patrol Deputy
-K-9 Demo (limited to 1 hour)
-Safety Presentations (Personal Safety, Social Media Safety, Scam/Fraud Prevention)
Sheriff's Teen Citizens Academy:
The Sheriff's Teen Citizens Academy is a 4-week program that allows Pinellas County teens the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The program is geared towards teens between the ages of 14 and 18 that have an interest in law enforcement, but not enough of an interest to commit to a long-term educational program or a law enforcement explorer program.
Teen Driver Challenge:
A program for teen drivers taught by PCSO driving instructors. Young drivers are taught the rules of the road and the consequences of driving distracted due to texting, music, passengers, substance abuse, and more.
Discovery Day:
Participants encounter four education stations including a vehicle display, a modified version of the Physical Abilities Test course, a hands-on forensic science experience, and the opportunity to test their skills on the Targeted Response Against Distracted Driving course.
