Tarpon Springs Recreation is proud to present the Sunset Beach Cleanup! Please join us as we partner with Keep Pinellas Beautiful to tackle the issue of marine debris on our coastlines. The millions of tons of trash that enter the ocean each year entangles wildlife, pollutes beaches, and consumes taxpayer money. We need your help to put a stop to it! Each year 80% of the debris entering our waterways is introduced from inland areas (streets, storm drains, lakes, ponds, etc.) through our watersheds and into the global waterway, our oceans. We work diligently to help remove the waste from leaving a lasting impact on our natural ecosystems.
The event will begin Saturday, September 7th at 9:00 am.
Note: Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Gloves and trash bags/buckets will be provided.
Directions to site: Directions to site: Meet at the large pavilion on the Southwest side of the beach. Free parking available at the beach.
