The Union Academy Revitalization Committee and the City of Tarpon Springs invite you to join the community for a Juneteenth Day Celebration. The event will be on Saturday, June 21st, from 10 am to 1pm at Dorsett Park. Juneteenth is a federal holiday celebrated yearly on June 19, marking the day June 19, 1865 when Union Army Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas, proclaiming that the enslaved African Americans there were free.
There will be a Juneteenth program with guest speakers, waterslide, DJ, vendors, games, free food (while supplies last) & more! The event is FREE and open to the public.
