Southwest Pool Grand Opening

After 10 months of renovations, the City of Largo is reopening Southwest Pool with a daylong celebration for all ages on Sat, Jun 28 from 7am-5pm. The project focused on modernizing the pool and bath house to enhance safety, accessibility, and overall experience for visitors.
Renovations included essential upgrades to the pool's structure and systems, such as shell, deck, and diving tower repairs. New mechanical equipment and accessibility features now offer a safer, more inclusive environment. Inside the bath house, redesigned locker rooms feature updated showers, lighting, and fixtures, along with two additional restrooms and a flexible-use program room. The facility also received new flooring, fresh paint inside and out, and an updated entry gate.
These improvements reflect the City's commitment to enhancing public spaces that promote health, safety, and community pride. This $6 million project was funded with federal dollars through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) with an additional $134,315 in support from the City’s general fund for the installation of new fencing and equipment upgrades.
To celebrate, community members are invited to enjoy a full day of free activities and explore the upgraded space.

11am-5pm- Grand Opening Celebration will include open swim, class trials, team demonstrations, swim lesson demonstrations, party room and rental package information, tours of pump and filter rooms.
